ISSS holds International Advisory Committee Meeting

ISSS held CFPS International Advisory Committee Meeting on July 26 and July 27, 2014 at Zhongguanyuan Global Village PKU. The meeting was hosted by CFPS PI Prof. Yu Xie, who was joined by ISSS Director, Prof. Qiang Li. Participating committee members included Robert M. Hauser from National Research Council, Prof. James Lepkowski from University of Michigan, Prof. Narayan Sastry from University of Michigan, Prof. Wenfang Tang from University of Iowa, Prof. Donald Treiman from University of California at Los Angeles, Prof. Robert Willis from University of Michigan, Prof. Xiaogang Wu from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Prof. Jean Yeung from National University of Singapore. Peking University faculty Prof. Xiaolin Zhou, and Prof. Aiyu Liu also attended the meeting.
During the one-and-a-half-day meeting, committee members and ISSS staff discussed several important issues that are key to the future of CFPS, including tracking migrants, sample maintenance, possibility of adding new provinces and refreshing samples, possibility of data harmonization with other similar datasets etc. Following the advisory committee meeting, ISSS held its staff meeting to incorporate suggestions from the committee members to update field plans for CFPS 2014.
