On the morning of April 28, Susana Mourato, Vice President of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), led a team to visit the College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering at Peking University (PKU). The team held discussions with faculty members on the "PKU-LSE Joint Double Master's Degree Program in Environmental Policy, Technology, and Health." Attendees from the College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering included Prof. Shiqiu Zhang, Qi Chen, Hancheng Dai, Yana Jin, and Yang Jiao, head of the Office of International Relations.

First, Prof. Shiqiu Zhang gave a warm welcome and sincere thanks to Vice President Mourato and her team on behalf of the college. Prof. Giles Atkinson, Acting Director of Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, introduced the institute's development and the Global School of Sustainability, expressing hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to further expand bilateral cooperation.

Then, Prof. Qi Chen showed the early draft plan for degree adjustments in the PKU-LSE Joint Double Master's Degree Program (Environmental Policy, Technology, and Health). The LSE team highly recognized the adjustment plan, noting that incorporating internships through university-industry collaboration aligns more closely with current student training objectives. LSE also expressed its intention to intensify promotional efforts for the double degree program, further expand the scale of student enrollment, and increase the proportion of international students recruited.

Both sides unanimously agreed to deepen joint student training while strengthening academic exchanges and research project cooperation between faculty members through mechanisms such as mutual visits, which holds significant importance for enhancing academic linkages and the development of the double degree program.

Introduction to the PKU-LSE Joint Double Master's Degree Program:
The PKU-LSE Joint Double Master's Degree Program (Environmental Policy, Technology, and Health) is a two-year full-time double degree program jointly established by the College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering at PKU and the Department of Geography and Environment at LSE. Students will complete their first year of study at PKU and their second year at LSE, with graduation contingent upon fulfilling the requirements of both academic years. Since its first enrollment in 2021, a total of 46 students from 15 countries and regions have been successfully admitted to the program, with nationalities spanning Asia, Europe, North America, and South America, demonstrating a broad geographical reach.
