Course Introduction

The Institute of Social Science Survey (ISSS) of Peking University was established in September 2006. It is a data survey platform for social sciences at Peking University and an interdisciplinary platform for empirical research on social issues in China. The Center pays attention to the research needs of major national social and economic management policies, promotes Chinese social science and management science to catch up with international academic frontiers, and has accumulated rich knowledge and experience in the fields of social survey, data analysis and big data analysis. Adhering to the concept of “continuously promoting academics and promoting cultural prosperity”, the Center launched an academic service project for the society at the end of 2015, actively sharing professional knowledge and experience with the community, and successfully held nearly 20 high-end training projects, which were widely recognized by the academic community and the industry.

Offline learning:

In order to meet the wishes of the majority of students "going into the Peking University campus", the center organizes relevant training programs.

In order to effectively serve the scientific advancement of quantitative research in the social sciences and promote the solid academic style of quantitative research in China, the Center organizes 2-3 quantitative research seminars for teachers across the country every year.

For enterprises and institutions or government departments with clear training needs to develop training plans, the center can sign a commissioned work agreement with them, and organize a systematic entrusted training course.

The center will open two two-week summer courses of "Social Survey Practice" and "Social Survey Data Analysis Method" at Peking University in July each year. For details, please refer to the official website of Peking University Summer School: http://summer.pku.edu.cn

Training object:

Researchers, students, or people interested in research in the field of scientific experiments, quality inspections, social surveys, etc. in private enterprises. Interested parties are welcome to register and consult!

Certificate of completion:

Students who have passed the training program can obtain a certificate of completion issued by Peking University. The certificate is stamped with Peking University and can be found on the Peking University website.
